Pre-Primary

The Pre-Primary ballet program focuses on introducing the fundamentals of classical dance in a structured yet engaging format. Each class begins with ballet gymnastics—exercises performed on the floor designed to enhance flexibility, muscle strength, endurance, and discipline. Following this, students learn the foundational positions of the feet—first, second, and third—without extensive turnout, alongside basic hand placements. The curriculum also includes teaching various dance steps and their rhythmic application to classical music. At the centre, students practice small dance combinations that foster the development of coordination, musicality, memory, and jumping strength (in one spot), while also learning to move effectively in circles and diagonals. A highlight of the Pre-Primary ballet program is the improvisation segment, often the students' favourite part, where they are encouraged to create their own dances under the guidance of the teacher. This activity not only nurtures their imagination but also aids in developing their capacity to express emotions through movement.
